I started the Gumbolaya Podcast after many of my friends a family members began consistently encouraging me to share, with the world, what I share regularly with them. I've been blessed to have wonderful teachers and opportunities to learn that so much of life is easier to navigate and enjoy when you master a few concepts. Here are a few that I've found to be universally consistent...

1) Treat EVERYONE with love, dignity, and respect. Most will treat you the same if you don't assume their ill intent

2) You're allowed voice your thoughts and to ask honest questions, whenever and wherever appropriate. Know that the right people for your life will listen to and respect you, if they believe you love and respect them (#1).

3) Relationships are only difficult when you try to control others. Choose what YOU do to create an atmosphere in which people want to share their life with you in whatever way THEY choose.

4) Develop and nurture your spiritual relationship with the creator. Avoid people and ideologies that encourage self-righteousness. We all need an external way to keep ourselves from selfishness, greed, vanity, wrath, etc. Seek God's righteousness and be led in real love.
