I started the Gumbolaya Podcast after many of my friends a family members began consistently encouraging me to share, with the world, what I share regularly with them. I've been blessed to have wonderful teachers and opportunities to learn that so much of life is easier to navigate and enjoy when you master a few concepts. Here are a few that I've found to be universally consistent...

1) Treat EVERYONE with love, dignity, and respect. Most will treat you the same if you don't assume their ill intent

2) You're allowed voice your thoughts and to ask honest questions, whenever and wherever appropriate. Know that the right people for your life will listen to and respect you, if they believe you love and respect them (#1).

3) Relationships are only difficult when you try to control others. Choose what YOU do to create an atmosphere in which people want to share their life with you in whatever way THEY choose.

4) Develop and nurture your spiritual relationship with the creator. Avoid people and ideologies that encourage self-righteousness. We all need an external way to keep ourselves from selfishness, greed, vanity, wrath, etc. Seek God's righteousness and be led in real love.

Episode 9 of the Gumbolaya Podcast is another Ramblin' Ant, continuing to address the matter of choice, as it relates to what you want for your life and how you want to impact people. Your choices are the lessons you're teaching that allows people to get to know you. Yay!

Episode 8 of Ramblin' Ant further addresses the concept of choosing who you want to be. I talk about how to manage a stressed relationship, prior to cutting someone off, how to be reasonable and work through matters, and carefully choosing your path, as you engage people that justify behavior based on other's behavior.

Episode 7 of Ramblin' Ant addresses the general concept of kindness. It can be a life changing philosophy, when chosen and prioritized. Planting seeds is necessary before you experience growth or harvest. We have to choose what seeds we plant. We put what we choose into the world. We can put pain or purpose, love or hate, kindness or selfishness, faithfulness or opportunism. Choice is ours.

Episode 6 of Ramblin' Ant addresses a bit more of the concept of choosing your relationships. Some relationships can’t be chosen, but this episode is another reminder to be careful who you let into your life. When you have the choice, choose carefully, and remember you have the right to forgive or not to.

Episode 5 of the Gumbolaya Podcast centers on general life mindfulness. I speak about how often we base our feelings and decisions on what others think and feel, as well as the inherent problems with that path. This video is to encourage you to be yourself, in every area possible. There is value in giving way to helping/serving/yielding to others, but not if it isn't a conscious sacrifice. It's your life. You choose to whom you give what. Time, gestures, preference, prerogative, space, etc. It's up to you. Yay!

Episode 4 introduces the Ramblin' Ant series!  Hooray about it!
This is just me. Me sharing...
